Indigenous Marine Servicing Initiative

A new federal funding program that assists eligible recipients (Indigenous communities and Commercial Fishing Enterprises) in the development of an Indigenous Marine Servicing Industry. The focus is to foster Indigenous participation in the marine industry supply chain. Check out the program web link here:

Federal Government Announces "Clean Tech" Fund

DFO has announced $20 million over the next 4 years in new funding under a new program called: 

Fisheries and Aquaculture Clean Technology Adoption Program

This fund could support any fisheries or aquaculture project where environmental performance/impact is improved including new processes, sustainable practices and market ready clean technologies.

This may include projects that would see Styrofoam flotation being replaced by ecologically beneficial newer roto-molded flotation systems for shellfish rafts, docks, work floats etc among other considerations.
