Canadian Aquaculture R&D Review 2017

This is the latest edition of the biannual Canadian Aquaculture R&D review. The review is an ongoing compendium of the aquaculture Research and Development project that have been underway over the past two years from all across Canada. The review contains over 220 project descriptions detailing a range of topics include; marine and freshwater species, fish health, production, husbandry technology, nutrition, genomics and more:

Datum Marine Services
Datum Marine offer boating courses and develop and teach commercial power boat handling and navigation courses. These boating courses are geared towards getting students working in the commercial marine industry. We offer Transport Canada accredited boating courses including Marine Emergency Duties (MEDA3) and the Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP).

North Island College
Prepare to write the Transport Canada exams for certification in: Fishing Master IV, Master, Limited (60 GT), Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP), MED A’s, and Industry Canada exams for ROC-M, and ROC-MC. Offered at a variety of times in: Campbell River, Comox Valley, Port Alberni, Port Hardy, Ucluelet.

Safer Ocean Systems
Offering Transport Canada approved, marine safety training in Nanaimo BC, including the Marine Emergency Duties course (MED A1 A2 A3 ). MED A1 certification is required by all employees working on commercial Vessels in British Columbia.

BCIT – School of Transportation
BCIT’s waterfront Marine Campus is the primary provider of accredited professional training for the maritime industry in British Columbia. They offer a wide range of courses and programs in Navigation, Marine Engineering, Seamanship, and Maritime Security, as well as Nautical Science programs such as the Diploma (Deck Officer).
